FirstLight for a Brighter Holyoke

We are excited to share with you the excitement and joy FirstLight brings to our community. FirstLight is an accomplishment organized by Holyoke community members with support from Nueva Esperanza, Inc., and the City of Holyoke.  As an expression of our city’s commitment to innovation in our Art and Canal District, FirstLight looks forward presenting new and creative lighting technology and design. We believe that by bringing positive attention to the area, it will become more attractive for potential business growth and a source of community pride.

On December 2nd, 2011, FirstLight illuminated the Canal along Heritage State Park and entertained the many people who visited downtown Holyoke to enjoy the activities of the City’s Annual Tree Lighting Day. 4,000 feet of LED lighting was installed on the fence along the canal walk as well as the fence along Heritage State Park. 5 foot wreaths and garlands were hung on the lamp posts. FirstLight was coordinated with other established events that go on in the area such as the annual lighting of the City’s Christmas Tree, the arrival of the Santa Claus train to Heritage State Park, the Merry-Go-Round, the Children’s Museum and the Volleyball Hall of Fame.

This establishment has been a rewarding experience for the people of the community and for the City of Holyoke. For that reason, we continue our efforts for expanding FirstLight to truly create a Brighter Holyoke! Become a Fan on Facebook to Stay up-to-Date!
